Lip Filler

Lip filler is a type of injectable treatment used to add volume and fullness to lips that have naturally thin structure or have thinned with age. It is an effective method for achieving fuller and more attractive lips.

Lip fillers are applied to create natural-looking, voluminous lips. With hyaluronic acid-based fillers, it’s also possible to achieve hydrated and smooth lips. The procedure takes about 10–15 minutes and provides results that last between 6–12 months.

What Are the Uses of Lip Filler?

  • Lip shaping
  • Lip volumizing
  • Defining the cupid’s bow (upper lip curve)
  • Enhancing lip contours
  • Correcting drooping at lip corners
  • Smoothing fine lines around the lips

How Is Lip Filler Applied?

Since the lips are among the most sensitive areas of the body, procedures in this area often cause discomfort. Therefore, a numbing cream is applied before the filler procedure. After about 15–20 minutes, the lips become numb, and the filler is injected using fine-tipped needles. The injection takes about 10 minutes. Results can be seen immediately after the procedure.

What Should Be Considered After Lip Filler?

On the day of the procedure, lipstick or gloss should not be applied. It is recommended not to eat or drink anything for about 2 hours after the injection. Mild swelling or slight bruising at the injection sites may occur, but these effects typically subside within 2–3 days.

Is Lip Filler Permanent?

Hyaluronic acid-based fillers used for shaping and volumizing the lips are not permanent. They generally last between 6 to 12 months before being naturally absorbed by the body. The treatment can be repeated once the effect wears off. Longevity of the filler may vary depending on the individual.

Who Can Get Lip Filler and Is It Safe?

Lip fillers can be applied to anyone with naturally thin lips, those who have lost volume due to aging, or those who want better-shaped lips. The procedure is safe when performed in licensed clinics by experienced physicians approved by the Ministry of Health. Fillers should only be administered by qualified doctors—applications by non-medical personnel can lead to unwanted and permanent damage. Mild redness and swelling may appear after the procedure but typically resolve quickly. Since hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body, it rarely causes side effects.
