Filler

Filler is a cosmetic procedure used to reshape the entire face and eliminate fine lines and deep wrinkles. It is applied to restore lost volume and balance facial proportions without surgery. At our clinic, we use hyaluronic acid fillers (such as Juvederm, Belotero, Idea) and mineral fillers (such as Radiesse), which are composed of substances naturally found in the body.

What Is Hyaluronic Acid Filler?

Hyaluronic acid is a commonly used filler material that exists naturally in the body. Therefore, it carries a minimal risk of side effects. It is the most frequently used filler in medical aesthetics. Its results last for 6 to 18 months after the procedure. The treatment takes about 10–15 minutes and is an anti-aging method that allows patients to see immediate results without interrupting their daily routine.

Where Are Fillers Used?

  • Brow lifting
  • Under-eye hollows
  • Cheek contouring
  • Facial contour correction
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Lip contouring and volume enhancement
  • Temple hollowing
  • Nose lifting and reshaping
  • Jawline definition
  • Cheekbone enhancement
  • Hands
  • Fine lines around lips, forehead, and eyes

What Is Mineral Filler?

Mineral filler is a safe filler material containing calcium hydroxyapatite. It is generally used to define areas such as the hands, cheeks, nasolabial folds, chin, and cheekbones. After application, the filler integrates into the skin over the course of a week, creating a more natural appearance. This non-allergenic material provides longer-lasting results.

How Is Filler Applied?

Before the procedure, an experienced physician performs a detailed examination. The area to be treated, the type and amount of filler are determined, and the area is disinfected. To minimize or eliminate pain, anesthetic creams are used. The filler is injected into the targeted area using fine needles or a cannula, and the process takes between 5 and 30 minutes. Mild redness may occur after the procedure, but this usually disappears within a few hours. Patients can return to their daily life immediately after the application, making fillers an easy and convenient midday aesthetic option.

How Long Do Aesthetic Fillers Last?

Filler treatments generally last between 6 and 18 months. After the filler wears off, the skin returns to its previous state—or even better than before. If the treatment is not repeated, the skin does not worsen. Since fillers help retain moisture in the skin, they also improve skin quality. If necessary, doctors may recommend gentle massage of the treated area for a week. Until redness or swelling subsides, sauna use and sun exposure are not recommended.

What Are the Side Effects of Fillers?

Since hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body, it typically does not cause allergic reactions. Mild swelling and redness may appear after treatment but usually resolve within 48 hours. Since it is a reversible substance, improperly applied hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved.

Who Can Have Aesthetic Fillers?

Anyone over 18 years old without an allergy to the filler substance can undergo aesthetic filler treatment. Both women and men can safely have fillers. It is important to inform the physician about any regular medications or allergies before or during consultation. Filler treatments are not performed on pregnant or breastfeeding women.
